With the last day of the group stage the round of 16 is completed, and the verdict for the Azzurri is not the best. To wait for Italy, which closes its group second, there will be the Slovenia of Luka Doncic, a third classified of group D thanks to the victory in the direct clash with Israel. At the head of group C, however, Greece is placed, which gives the tournament the first noisy elimination: in fact Spain of Scariolo goes home, which closes in fifth place after the defeat against Giannis and his companions. To open the day there was another decisive challenge, that between Bosnia and Georgia: the success for 84-76 is worth third place at the national team coached by Bekir, dragged by the double double of Nurkic (15 and 12 rebounds) and the 15 points of Roberson. Mamukelashvili’s 20 are not enough to give the comeback to Georgia, who qualifies as fourth thanks to the victory of Greece for 90-86. Antetokounmpo returns to the command of the operations as a true driver and the triple double for a single assist is missing (25 points and 14 rebounds), well supported by an excellent Dorsey. Spain greets the reigning champion tournament, despite a touched and faded comeback in the final.

If the four qualified four were already known, there was still a ranking to be decreed: and on the top France climbs, which exceeds Iceland 114-74 without difficulty: eight French in double digits in a match without history, with rice fields best built (15). The hottest challenge was that between Slovenia and Israel, where Doncic was the master in 106-96 final: Luka gives the usual star performance and closes with 37 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists, touching the second triple double of the tournament. This result arithmetically gives the second place to Poland, which is beaten in the final by Belgium 70-69: he decides a basket of Lecoms 3 seconds from the end.
