The man accused by Maxime Meiland is determined to purify his name. He achieved success last month, because the Court of Appeal in The Hague has now decided that she can still be heard as a witness. In other words: Maxime has to be exposed with the buttocks, and she didn’t want that at all for emotional considerations.
Rebuke
Maxime says she cannot cope with the emotional pressure, but according to the court, she has called this whole issue about herself by accusing the man in her biography. Mother Erica Meiland is always calling that it all has to stop once, but it is now too late for that, says lawyer Peter Schouten, who assists the alleged rapist.
It will be very hot by the Meilandjes now, Peter thinks. “The witness hearings will put the truth on the table. Finally the one -sided story of Maxime will get a rebuttal and contradiction and then not only from my client, but also from eight other witnesses,” he says in the Story.
In the bushes
These witnesses were in the same bushes as Maxime and the man in question. “From the moment they started flirting together until they separated that evening.”
It is a pity that it all has to go, Peter concludes. “This should have happened before the publication of the book.
