The bizarre neighbor of Albert Verlinde, tech entrepreneur Pieter Vos, was arrested today by the FIOD Investigation Service FIOD. “He cheated on investors for tens of millions of euros.”
The neighbor of Albert Verlinde, with whom the RTL Tonight star is in the VVE, seems to go into the history books as one of the greatest fraudsters in the Netherlands. As the boss of the Amsterdam software company Rodeo, this Pieter Vos was celebrated until the end of last year as one of the most successful tech entrepreneurs in the country, but that is over.
200 million euros
The NRC came up with a shocking reconstruction of the deception that he would have committed. He managed to pick up millions from investors by completely sucking sales figures and customer numbers. While the company in reality hardly had any customers, he painted Rodeo as a global player with lucrative deals at Google and Meta.
With slippery talks and self -prepared financial statements, he got an American billion -dollar fund in the summer of 2022 so crazy to put no less than 200 million (!) Euros in Rodeo. They only forgot to check with Google and Meta whether they really did business with Pieter. When it turned out that everything is an air castle, many panicked.
Expensive house
In the meantime, Pieter threw money in his private life. He lives in an apartment in a luxury residential complex near the Museumplein worth 3.5 million euros. “There he meets with his new neighbor: Showbizz expert and musical entrepreneur Albert Verlinde,” the NRC reported.
We never heard about this case. It is unclear how strong his ties are with this neighbor. Anyway: today this Pieter was arrested.
