The final arrival of Dyer took a while. Chelsea first extended his contract, after which he could complete his transfer to Volendam.
FC Volendam had actually focused on Sean Steur. Ajax’s midfielder seemed to come to the fishing village, but the transfer chased at the last minute.
“Chelsea called me on Sunday and again yesterday, after which we immediately took action. Dyer has come into the picture in recent weeks through our network,” says technical director Patrick Busby.
Top talent
Dyer debuted in December 2024 in the first Chelsea team, in the Conference League match with Astana. Yet he makes most minutes in the Under-19 of Chelsea. Last summer he played with England at the Under-19 European Championship.
“Kiano is a top talent that can perform technically quickly and well in less time and the small space. Physically he will be able to get used to the Eredivisie and make the translation. We have received our lucky goal with the arrival of Dyer.”
