It was an intensive for Efteling employees, because the well does not empty itself. With buckets, the coins were brought up and collected in plastic crates. This all happened under the supervision of security guards. One of the employees joked when leaving the well that he had felt ‘Even Dagobert Duck’.

The money from the desire comes from the visitors. They try a coin on the dish of the image from the edge of the source. that is close to the dance macabre attraction. If you hit, you can make a wish. If you miss the dish, the coin falls into the well and this goes to charity.

De Efteling empties the Wensbron once a year since the opening in 1985. None other than Princess Juliana opened the Wensput. At the time, she was the patron of Save the Children. From that moment on, Efteling donates the proceeds to Save the Children every year. More than 200,000 euros has already been donated.

The Efteling announces how much was taken from the desire source this year.

So if you miss the dish the next time, then you know that a different wish is still being fulfilled.
