The Norwegian club FK Bodø/Glimt has managed historical these days. The team’s sports director only saw parts of the game.
The starting point was more than comfortable, because Bodø/Glimt had almost secure the ticket for the league after the 5-0 in the first leg of the Champions League qualification against Sturm Graz. And when the second leg in Austria, the Norwegians led 1-0 early. Nevertheless, sports director Frode Thomassen no longer ended, fled in the first half from the stands towards Hotdog stand.
“It became so unbearably exciting in the middle of half-time that I just had to retire and walk around a bit here,” said Thomassen to the Norwegian TV broadcaster NRK, while on the square the greatest game in the club’s history ran.
At times he only followed the action on a small screen. In the second round he also needed a break in the meantime and fled back towards the food stalls.
The reason for the nervousness was the historical moment: Bodø/Glimt moved into the group phase of the Champions League since Rosenborg in 2007. Although there was a 1-2 in the second leg against Sturm Graz in the end, the lead was enough for the entry into the premier class.
