After a lot of back and forth, Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea is loaned to FC Bayern. The newcomer could miss some games.
FC Bayern has received its offensive reinforcement on the last minute: On the last day of the transfer window, those responsible for the German record champions made the loan of the offensive man Nicolas Jackson from FC Chelsea on Monday. A long back and forth was preceding, in which the 24-year-old was already in Munich when the London club still wanted to burst the deal. In the end, the Bavarians stayed persistent and laid Jackson to Munich.
It is important for FC Bayern to widen the squad, which is very thin on the offensive after the departures of Thomas Müller, Leroy Sané and Kingsley Coman and the injury to Jamal Musiala. Jackson is said to bring important relief.
But Bayern already have to prepare for Jackson to miss some games. Because Senegal’s 19-time national player could take part in the Africa Cup for the current season.
The tournament rises from December 21st to January 18th. During this period, four Bayern Bayern Bundesliga games fall against 1st FC Heidenheim, VfL Wolfsburg, 1st FC Köln and RB Leipzig. In addition, Jackson would not have a winter break due to participating in the tournament.
Of all things, if the season is already high in the decisive phase and the risk of injury, Jackson could lack the Munich – and then come back uncomfortably.
The club had to find out in the past year what the effects that can have. At the beginning of 2024, central defender Min-Jae Kim took part in the Asia Cup. After that, he needed some time to get fit again, did not present himself in top form for a long time. Bavaria is now threatening a similar scenario at Jackson.
