French wine farmer receives 18 months in prison for sale of 1.5 million bottles of fake champagne

The correctional court in Reims, France, sentenced a former winemaker to four years in prison on Tuesday. He has to serve effectively for 18 months. He was on trial for large -scale fraud with false champagne. According to the research, he launched around 1.5 million bottles of “fake champagne” in 2022 and 2023.
