The 74-year-old man from Nijmegen who showed his genitals to minor girls at a primary school in Helmond, stays stuck for two weeks longer. The examining magistrate determined this on Tuesday. According to the Public Prosecution Service, the man is suspected of sexually approaching children.
The man is said to have shown his dick to girls from groups 3 and 4 last Wednesday. That happened at primary school ‘t Hout on Mahoniehoutstraat in Helmond. The girls were playing outside when the suspect appeared and asked the road to the girls. “The girl walked a bit and then he suddenly showed his genitals,” school director Maarten Jacobs told Omroep Brabant.
The man would then have told the girls that they were not allowed to tell. He also asked if the girls wanted to show their own genitals. The girls didn’t do that. They ran away together. Their parents then called the police.
Confiscated stuff
Three days later the 74-year-old man was arrested by the police. It was found through camera images. Data carriers were seized at his home. The police and the Public Prosecution Service cannot yet say what kind of things are involved.
The man is suspected of ‘sexually approaching children’. He was brought before the examining magistrate on Tuesday. He has determined that the Nijmegen residents will stay stuck for fourteen days longer.
‘Great when the peace returns’
According to school director Jacobs, the girls are doing well. “We are following the children now. If we notice that they are bothered by it and keep walking around it, we intervene. But in situations where something exciting happens, it is also nice when the peace returns. And that we just do things as we do every day.”
