Between self-irony and trash aesthetics, the newcomer Kiarababa seems to be the new star in the TikTok sky.

Anyone who is called Yannick did not necessarily have it easy this summer. The newcomer Kiarababa secured her place in the German rap scene with the track of the same name. Her single “She is my brother” appeared on August 28th, less than a week later she ends up in second place in the German Tikok charts-directly after Beyoncé with her hit “All Night”.

Recommendations of the editorial team

So far, you know very little about Kiarababa, she only releases selfies and songs on her TikTok. And yet: Your tracks went viral on the platform over the summer. Her debut hit “Yannick” now has over two million plays, “your hair” even over three million. The new single “She is my brother” is now, as expected, also on Tikkok through the ceiling.

What makes the newcomer so popular? We get to the bottom of the trend

At the beginning of her career, the rapper had little reach, her account on Tiktok followed almost 8,000 users: inside. Since she released “Yannick” in May 2025, but at the latest since Shirin David used the song in one of her promo videos, Kiarababa has become an integral part of the German rap scene. At least the younger listeners: Inside, they celebrate one of the most promising newcomers this year.

Her accent and intonation are reminiscent of Schwesta Ewa, the flow, on the other hand, resembles that of the late rapper and music producer Xatar, the design of her single cover is like the style of SSIO. It combines the sacred trinity of the showy German rap. At the same time, the style of its videos serves the ongoing trash hype, which is celebrated on social media.

“Meme rap” could be called their style. In terms of content, she raps about her dream of wealth, problems with other women or the law and how men use for their profit. This corresponds almost exactly to the way that musicians like Shirin David or Ikkimel have marked the genre of German rapeseed. However, what distinguishes Kiarababa from the already established sizes is the supposed self -irony with which it performs her texts.

Objectively, your rhymes are occasionally lacking … rhyme scheme. In her new single “She is my brother” it is about:

“Hold my hair when I pull your nose
And gives me a handkerchief when my heart breaks
Many have no principles, but we have the same
It is beautiful like a strawberry “

But it is precisely this textual and qualitative self -irony (which Kiarababa is attributed by the public, it has not yet commented on her music), which makes the rapper in the mainstream so connected. She maintains her audience with DIY Promo videos from parking garages, Spätis or subway stops, now and then sips her on her capri sun or pulls on her vape. The nonchalance with which she speaks the lines in the camera gives the rapper a break-in effect that does not match her prefabricated plastic look and the Schwesta EWA texts-and that is precisely why it is well received.

Since her first publication, the rapper has launched new songs for almost monthly, the texts are writing. Your lines are catchy and in places so casually that she is already going through as a “iconic”, and the length of her tracks corresponds exactly to the duration that is perfect for TikK’s short video format. So it is not surprising that Kiarababa experiences such a hype on social media.

In the German rap, female artists are often staged as a target or advocates for feminist attitudes – the trivia around performers such as Shoki, Ikkimel or Shirin David have shown this. Kiarababa, on the other hand, does not quite fit into the scheme of the feminist fo*zen rapeseed, it is more likely to joined the SSIO rap. That means, ironically over-the-end road rap with classic 80s West coast vibes. The conscious oversubscribe of the clichés to drugs and social milieu is therefore entertaining for rap fans and listeners: inside with a sense of satire.

More than just a hype?

So far, nothing has been known about an EP or album, but fans have various guesswork that support their hope of more songs by Kiarababa. On the one hand, there would be Shirin David, through which Kiarababa grew up in the mainstream. Because David follows the newcomer on Instagram, many suspect that her label Juicy Money Records could sign the Solingen musician. According to other media, however, she already has a label contract with Chapter One – but this information has not yet been officially confirmed.

So it can be assumed that Kiarababa will bring out her music as an independent artist, which only underlines the importance of her young career in view of her sudden virality. In view of the speed of her discography, as well as her reach, you can be sure that a release of KiaraBaba will soon be due again.
