The change from Ederson to Fener could have been finalized in the next few days, as the transfer window in Turkey closes on September 12th. The 32-year-old switched from Benfica Lisbon to Man City in summer 2017 and shaped an era there: in 372 missions he kept zero 168 times and won 18 titles, including the Champions League in 2023.

For a long time, Ederson had been associated with a move to Fenerbahce’s city rival Galatasaray – the Turkish champion hired national goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır instead on Monday. Trabzonspor reported 33 million euros as a transfer fee, which can reach up to 36 million euros with bonuses. With this, Çakır could take over seventh place in the ranking of the most expensive goalkeeper in history. Gala, on the other hand, puts the sum to be paid at 27.5 million euros – that would mean 17 rank.
