Linda de Mol seriously disappoints everyone with her new show brilliant brains. Is this then what she was lent to RTL 4 with a lot of bombing? “Her new format is faltering,” is the criticism.
It is a bit left with Linda de Mol. The shine is finished. ‘Perhaps today’ the men of today are inside more important for SBS 6 than herself, she cried in the newspaper last week. Well, we all know that she has been under a stone for three years, but this hits everything. Our fallen TV queen is in the shadow of the trio and not just a bit too.
Brilliant flop
During her self-imposed house arrest, Linda has a nice walk on a TV format, but her quiz brilliant brains was found ‘too intelligent’ for SBS 6. That is why brother John has lent her to RTL 4.
On that channel we saw this weekend what a ‘too intelligent’ TV quiz looks like in 2025: Team Banana, Team Appel and Team Kiwi competed in the program for those who know most about Queen Máxima. Sigh. The viewing figures? Lean. The reactions? Economical. And the latter means a lot, because everyone with the handbrake talks on it when it comes to the moles.
Moderate
Tina Nijkamp, who led SBS 6 for years, is not impressed. “Yes, it started fairly moderately with 671 thousand viewers and also lost I departure on NPO 1. That had 913 thousand viewers. Yes, that is a disappointment for Linda de Mol, who used to see everything she touched in gold,” she says in Tina’s TV UPDATE.
“I found the Quiz disappointing in terms of format because I thought it was too simple. I found the questions too simple for brilliant brains. If you are so smart and you have to answer all kinds of things about Máxima and other Trivia questions, then I think: yes, I even know that from my head, but I am also a bit disappointing.”
Apple, kiwi
Even Mol hugger Evert Santegoeds is not crazy. “Yes, I saw that too. I thought that was a strange part of the program to put those ‘brilliant brains’ as apple, kiwi or banana,” he says in Strictly private.
Albert Verlinde doesn’t think it’s much either. “The only thing I really think is: it takes so long. It takes a little one and a half hours, while I think: in an hour we understand it too,” he says to the desk of RTL Tonightwhere we saw two women sniffing for half an hour because of the Holleeder family drama.
‘Nothing for me’
And Morad El Ouakili, who even Luuk Ikink beats in the Grijzemuizencontest of RTL Boulevard? Does he like such a nice rippling program from Linda? No, not even though. “It might have been a bit slow for Saturday night,” he shouts in the show section.
Well, then quickly on to SBS 6. They are probably lyrical there. Or not? Jack van Gelder in The Oranjezomer: “It’s not for me, because you want to participate. There are twelve people who have learned things by heart and then Linda says:” Who is … “And then they already print. You have no idea exactly how and what.”
Poor Linda. Hopefully Jeroen is extra sweet for d’r today.
