The Gasthuisplein in the center of Zandvoort is completely full of people looking at the Dutch Grand Prix on large screens. Many shirts and caps from Red Bull Racing, the Max Verstappen team, can be seen on the square. It started from third place. Employees of a cafe share Oranje and Dutch flags on the square.

“They call it the ‘Zandvoort Race Festival’ here,” says reporter Maarten Edelenbosch. “It’s a kind of party grounds.”

This year it is for the first time that residents of Zandvoort can follow the race on a large screen in the village. Alderman Jan-Jaap de Kloet said earlier that the municipality of Zandvoort wanted to give residents and entrepreneurs back with a more extensive program around Formula 1.
