Former striker and assistant trainer at Top Oss Hans van de Haar was hit by a cerebral infarction on Friday evening, the club says on X. It happened before the league match against FC Dordrecht. Van de Haar also played earlier at RKC Waalwijk.
“Just before our home duel on Friday evening against FC Dordrecht, we as a club are startled by a major event,” the club writes on social media. “Our assistant trainer was hit by a cerebral infarction.” The 50-year-old Van de Haar has been an assistant trainer at the club in Oss since January.
The former attacker had been struggling with heart rhythm disorders for some time, he also underwent heart surgery earlier. Van de Haar played in the past as a professional football player at several clubs, including RKC Waalwijk, De Graafschap and FC Utrecht.
