Toto Wolff on Briatore, Horner and Ecclestone at the Alpine: “Like the mafia”

The possible scenario was outlined on Friday during the Team Manager press conference. When an opinion was asked, Wolff was clear: “It would be an exciting story, which could be very careful around Formula 1. I think we need it.” Then Toto added: “This championship has always been synonymous with the best races, with fantastic pilots and great personalities. I believe that, rethinking the era of the owners and team principal such as Frank Williams, Ron Dennis, Flavio Briatore and Luca Di Montezemolo, perhaps we should work precisely on this aspect. If there was such an exciting project, it would provide an excellent content”. Finally a joke: “bringing together these three characters would be as if the mafia met”.

And the direct interested parties? Horner and Ecclestone did not comment on the rumors that concern them. Briatore was present while Wolff expressed his point of view. The Italian manager explained: “At the moment I’m not considering anything like this. As for Horner, he is no longer in Formula 1.
