Dennis Patrick In the end it was a pretty impressive victory. What worked really well in the end?
I think the knot has burst. In the second half. You may not have had the rhythm at the beginning, you didn’t hit the outside and the Montenegrin sold expensive, you also have to say. Very physically played, good scorch Inside with Vukcevic. But in the end I think that the threes from Andi fruit and the good defense and the cohesion of the team I think I made the difference in the end.
Dennis Schröder said the man in the end switched on the sixth gear. How important was that then?
Yes, I think the sixth wasn’t the fifth yet. I’ve said that too. The sixth was not necessary today. But this third quarter was very, very dominant. 33, 14, I think it was. And there they turned the cog again in the defense, which was done really well, took the Montenegrin a bit to breathe a bit and then found the rhythm at the front, then hit one or the other threesome with Andi fruit and suddenly the knot burst, so to speak. And then you have that. You have calmly brought it to the harbor, almost home and in the end a first game, a opening win. And we look forward to what comes.
And all of this under the co coach. If that is also an important knowledge to say you can put the unrest away and win such a game with these requirements.
Of course, the trainer is always one thing. Magic was of course actually a head coach and was also clear at the windows of qualification windows at the national team when Co coach worked with Alex. But that’s a team that rests. A team that works, which I think knows exactly what to do. Dennis is certainly asked as a leader. Franz is in demand, but also people like Joe Voigtmann. Tim, to everyone who comes there, have to contribute their part to master such a situation even if it was not intact in this team. Then that would probably be a problem. But the team works and like to play basketball together and are super professional.
What has to work even better against Sweden?
I think you just have to build on the second half, the intensity, to this joy of playing. Ideally also on the three -half quota. Because that makes the game wider. Of course, this makes the job much easier for everyone involved if one is inserted from the outside. And further on this rhythm, on this naturalness, to also work on this ease, in order to be ready for the big tasks.
Thank you. Now we are celebrating the victory.
