Sané will only watch from home.
The reason? Julian Nagelsmann explained: “Leroy is now playing in a league that is a bit worse than the Bundesliga. He has to stand out more,” said the national coach when he was known on Wednesday in Frankfurt/Main. Nagelsmann expects “no miracle things, but a certain quota”. He has “not yet reached” this.
Nagelsmann and Sané are therefore in the “good exchange”. So the offensive player also made it clear: “Everything is fine. He told me that I would still be part of the planning. We have a very good relationship,” said Sané to the sports information service after his non-consideration.
The 70-time international now applies: back to the German team as soon as possible. “I just have to keep going, find my rhythm and then the Champions League will soon start. The season is still a long time,” said Sané.
So the professional still has some time to play in Nagelsmann’s focus again: In the gala jersey, Sané should “prove itself and score and give some goals and templates,” said Nagelsmann.
