Top chef Kozeen Shiwan visited MTV After five in the program Tuesday. Shiwan’s restaurant The Room by Kozeen Shiwan has recently been in the midst of a buzz, when the Michelin-starred restaurant suddenly closed its doors after a couple of years of operation.
Shiwan opened the background of his decision in the interview.
“At that point, if you wake up in the morning an anxiety attack, you vomit, you pan and don’t want to go to work, I think it’s a good sign to put a stop for everything,” Shiwan says.
Shiwan describes the decision as wise and sad, but he feels that he has been able to get a “big stone” on his shoulders.
Shiwan says that his fatigue was eventually reflected in, for example, employees and family. However, he denies the claims that, for example, he would have barking his employees.
– As a leader, I have had to make difficult decisions and, unfortunately, give feedback that not everyone may like. But since I have not done well and realized it, I close my dream restaurant and the fuck even my business to take responsibility. I do not want me or anyone around me, whether it is work, family or friend. It’s not about any restaurant, but I have to change my lifestyle, Shiwan says.
Shiwan also commented on what kind of thoughts he or she had to do if he had to investigate his behavior. The former chef of the restaurant has accused the restaurant for illegal dismissal. The chef claims that the employment contract has been terminated by Shiwan’s “impulsive behavior and loud crying”.
– I think it’s in Business as Usual. For me, that is basic oats. For someone, it can shocking. All stories have two sides. I can say that when the stuff comes out, the other side of the story may be different, Shiwan says.
Shiwan says he has other plans to replace The Room.
– Maybe the gaze is even in the direction of the foreign countries. But it is said that I have a small plan for The Room towards the end of the year, Shiwan laughs.
Shiwan still has three Michelin stars. That’s why he is now thinking about abroad.
– It would be nice to start from the clean table in every way. The old Kozeen Shiwan and all the stuff you’ve done so far must be killed in order to go to a new era. I myself do not want to do this this way. That’s why I closed one of the most successful restaurants in Finland, says Shiwan.

Kozeen Shiwan got his restaurant Michelin star in record time in May 2024. Before the star, the restaurant had been open for less than half a year. To a completely surprise, the Michelin star did not come to Shiwan, as the chef had sought the stars with determination.
– I was enormously excited. I knew it would come, but when there was no guarantee, of course it was excited, Shiwan told Pippuri.fi in Michelin in May 2024.
