Hannover 96 and Marius Wörl go separate ways: the midfielder is drawn to the second division competition. There he receives a warm reception.

Marius Wörl returns Hannover 96. The midfielder joins second division competitor Arminia Bielefeld. This was confirmed by both clubs in the early Sunday afternoon. At Arminia, the 21-year-old signed a “long-term contract”. The clubs did not provide any further transfer details. A transfer fee in the range of two million euros is rumored. At 96, Wörl actually had a contract until 2027.

Wörl has already been active for the Arminia in the past two seasons – but still on loan. With the Bielefeld, he reached the 2nd division and the DFB Cup final in the past season.

According to Hannover 96, Wörl’s wish to return to Arminia was. “We exchanged this internally and finally came to the decision to meet the condition that Bielefeld fulfills our economic ideas,” said Hannover’s sports director Marcus Mann.

The Bielefelder announced the transfer immediately before the home game against Dynamo Dresden. Wörl presented himself to the fans who celebrated his return frenetically. The followers tuned in “Marius-Wörl” response choirs. The Arminia wrote on her Instagram channel: “Wörli is back”.

With his commitment and connection, Wörl has developed into a “top performer” and a “identification figure”, explained Bielefeld’s sports director Michael Mutzel.

Wörl was free of charge from TSV 1860 in the summer of 2023 Munich switched to 96 and then borrowed directly to Bielefeld.
