After the disappointing start, the German kayak four of the men reached the final run at the World Cup in Milan via a detour.

The parade boat of the German Canoe Association (DKV), which had won Olympic gold last year, landed in second place in the semi-finals behind Hungary and thus rides the medals on Friday (3:11 p.m.). A year after winning the silver medal at the Olympics, the K4 of women, on the other hand, conceded a setback and missed the final run.

The men’s four, who last drove past the Podest at the European Championship, had only ended up fourth in the lead on Wednesday. This season, the quartet with Schlagmann Max Rendschmidt is still looking for its top form, compared to the summer games, Anton Winkelmann is sitting on the boat.

The K4 of women is also not yet tied in the previous performance: On Thursday, the crew around the pageant Paulina Paszek had to be content with a disappointing fourth place in the semi -finals.

Meanwhile, the two kayak-twos gave themselves no nakedness over 500 m. The K2 Olympic champion Jacob Schopf and Max Lemke, who are also in the K4, also qualified as the winner of their preliminary for the semi-finals such as Paszek and Pauline Jagsch. The three-time Olympic gold winner Tom Liebscher-Lucz, who lost his place in the K4 this season, reached the preliminary round in the Kayak one over 500 m.
