A return from Florian Neuhaus to Fortuna Düsseldorf is no longer an issue. “The file is closed. It is clear that there are longings. But we know that it is actually not to be realized,” said Fortuna’s sports director Klaus Allofs at the “Rheinische Football Summit” of the “Rheinische Post” in Düsseldorf.

“The decisive factor is what the player wants. The signals were not that he said it is now,” said the 68-year-old. “I don’t want to dismiss it as a dream. Sporty yes, but not to implement it economically.” Most recently, media had speculated by returning to Düsseldorf, where the midfielder already played on loan in the 2017/18 season. Allofs himself described this as a “desirable solution” at the beginning of the month.

Scandal around Neuhaus done for Gladbach

For Borussia Mönchengladbach, the Neuhaus case has been completed. “Young people make mistakes. Florian violated the values of our club and was then sanctioned. After that, he got up again and the topic is also done for us,” said Borussia sports director Roland Virkus at the event.

After the appearance of a video that was created in Mallorca, Neuhaus was occupied by the Bundesliga club with a six -digit fine and was transferred to the U23 for four weeks. In the video, a disproportionate statement by the professional about Virkus was heard before the 28-year-old came into the picture and therefore revealed his own salary of “four million” euros.

Virkus now emphasized that Neuhaus is currently working “excellently” in training. He also returned there in early August. “He accelerates. If he is able to achieve what he is able to do, then he is a valuable player for Borussia Mönchengladbach. We and I would like it to be that way,” said the 58-year-old.
