Baumgart still gets the subsequent international break. He wants to change the system, Kuntz recalls. The HSV leads 2-0 against Schalke at halftime. The film team is allowed to go into the cabin again: the mood there looks tense and the pressure seems to be great. Schalke strikes back in the second half, the HSV plays terrifyingly weak – it ends 2: 2.
Stefan Kuntz is the disappointment in the documentary when he says of the decisive conversation with Steffen Baumgart: “He said to me: ‘Yes, Stefan, what do you want to say now? That the team is not performing, the coach is responsible for this. I am the coach, so I am responsible. I can understand if you say to me that we want to try something else.’
Kuntz finally ends Baumgart’s HSV chapter briefly and painlessly: “Yes. We want to try something else.” After only 278 days in office, the childhood dream of the trainer has dreamed of.
