ICONE TIGER WOODS should radically change the professional golf sport in North America.

The 49-year-old was elected by the PGA Tour as chairman of the newly founded “Future Competition Committee”. This was announced by Brian Rolapp, managing director of the golf organization.

As a head of the nine-member committee, consisting of players and business advisors around Liverpool main owner John Henry, Woods is supposed to develop the “optimal competitive model” for the tour. Rolapp expects “significant changes” and promised “the best professional golf sports competition in the world for the advantage of PGA tour fans, players and their partners.”

Wood’s team is responsible for promoting the equality of competition and shaping a season that is easy to follow. In addition, more tournaments are to be held in which the top players of the sport compete against each other.

“It is one of the most exciting times in our sport to be able to create a real change,” said Woods. A start date of the “new” PGA tour, whose schedule for 2026 has already been determined, did not announced Rolapp: “We will take as much time as is necessary to do everything right,” said Rolapp.
