Mourad B. from Roosendaal, one of the four suspects of the wheat camp explosion in The Hague, has given a statement to the police after months of silence about the revenge plan that killed six people. “The client did not say that it was his ex-girlfriend, but presented it as a job in connection with competition between bridal matters,” says his lawyer.

That reports the AD Tuesday. The attack on December 7 last year was probably directed against the owner of a bridal shop that was located in the block. She would have been the ex-girlfriend of the main suspect, the 33-year-old Moshtag B. from Rotterdam. The man grew up in Roosendaal. He would have wanted to take revenge on his ex-girlfriend because she would have been unfaithful to him.

A total of four men from Oosterhout, Roosendaal and Rotterdam are on trial. They are suspected of having set fire to a large amount of gasoline to destroy the car and bridal fashion store of Moshtag B.’s ex at the wheat camp. Six people died in the fire and explosion and several people were injured.

B. would have known nothing about the broken relationship and thought he was called in for a business conflict. “Moshtag B. did not tell that it was his ex-girlfriend, but presented it as a job in connection with competition between bridal matters,” says B’s lawyer. “The intention was never that the building would explode, and certainly not that people would die. Client regrets it.”

This Thursday is the next pro forma session in The Hague.
