The Norwegian court responded on Monday in a short statement to the charges against Høiby. It stated to the Norwegian broadcaster NRK that “it is up to the court” “to deal with the case and to come to an opinion. We have nothing to add to this.”

Crown Prince Haakon, the stepfather of Høiby, gave a short explanation about the situation on Tuesday prior to a working visit in Trondheim. He said that every person concerned finds it “probably challenging and difficult” in the case.
Mette-Marit about accusations against son: ‘Difficult’
At the end of 2024, Mette-Marit spoke about the case around her son, against whom the first accusations of violence came out about a year ago. “It was difficult. Otherwise you can’t call it,” said the crown princess in an interview with NRK. “It was real, really tough for us.”
Høiby is the oldest child of the crown princess. She got him from an earlier relationship. Together with the Norwegian throne successor Haakon (52), Mette-Marit still has two children: Ingrid Alexandra (21) and Prins Sverre Magnus (19).
