Former boxing world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has been deported from the USA to Mexico. The 38 -year -old son The boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez was transferred to the Mexican authorities on Monday and brought to a prison in the state of Sonora.
Chavez Jr. was arrested in Los Angeles by officials from the US immigration authority in Los Angeles. According to the Ministry of Homeland Security, there was an arrest warrant in Mexico for participation in organized crime and for weapons and explosive trade. Chavez was also suspected of belonging to the notorious Sinaloa cartel and is said to have given incorrect information in his application for a permanent stay in the USA.
Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed that there was an arrest warrant. The US authorities had classified the former middle weight world champion as a “blatant threat to public security” as part of the arrest.
