Former Bundesliga striker Alassane Plea has to be operated on and will be missing from the Dutch champion PSV Eindhoven longer.
As the PSV announced on Monday evening, the 32-year-old suffered a “serious knee injury” on Sunday in the second game of the season at FC Twente (2-0) and will be out of the first half of the season for the rest of the first half of the season.
“This is a very unpleasant outcome, especially for Alassane and of course also for PSV,” said sports director Ernest Stewart. Plea had moved to the eredivisia in the summer at Borussia Mönchengladbach. According to the announcement, Eindhoven will now look for a replacement on the transfer market due to the injury.
