The German beach volleyball players Svenja Müller and Cinja Tillmann narrowly missed the tournament victory at the Pro Tour in Montreal.

Around two weeks after winning the European Championship bronze medal, the German top duo moved into the final, but was defeated there by the Canadians Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson 0: 2 (15:21, 20:22).

Against the Olympic second of 2024 in Paris, the German team played a 14:10 lead in the second set. Previously, a 2-1 (15:21, 21:18, 15:10) had been successful in the semi -finals against Tina Gradina and Anastasija Samoilova from Latvia.

Just two weeks ago, Müller and Tillmann took third place at the home European Championships at Düsseldorf Rochusclub, winning the second EM medal in a row. In 2023 the duo in the Haag had brought the European Championship title for the first time, since then it has been part of the expanded world tip.

Next, the Pro Tour will stop in Hamburg from August 27th. The biggest highlight of the calendar year is still ahead for beach volleyball players: in November the world elite meets in Adelaide. The new world champions will be sought in the sand of South Australia from November 14th to 23rd.
