Naked sensual bodies, put in scenes that resemble orgies, erotic ties of all genres and stories of carnal desire in recent times won the scenarios and artistic redoubts of Buenos Aires. It is that the theater is slowly changing the skin of the Buenos Aires night. What just a decade ago seemed reserved for theme discos or marginal spaces, today wins central billboard, applause and unpublished media attention. The phenomenon has a specific starting point: the premiere in 2019 of “Sex, I lived your experience”, the creation of José María Muscari that turned the sex, stripping him of guilt and treating him with glamor, humor and talent, in the axis of an artistic proposal that challenges labels, prejudices and with interests, criteria and genres.
Pioneer “My work ‘Sex’ is not a sex show. It is a show that takes sex as theme and where artists convened from different areas dance, act, sing, make performances, acrobatics and naked. be an alternative theatrical piece. And he develops his theory: “The formula is held in two very clear pillars, at least for me, the quality of its interpreters, which are figures of the Argentine show as Diego Ramos, Gloria Carrá, Romina Ricci, Julieta Ortega, Nicolás Riera and Valeria Archimóamong many others, and the immersive experience it offers. ” Success of ‘Sex’, I released another work with which I turn throughout the country called ‘Sex, the work’. where I deepen with text and four actors (Diego Ramos, Gloria Carrá, Julieta Ortega and Nicolás Riera) issues such as fantasy, faithfulness, the durability of love, acceptance, diversity and bisexuality. All topics who question any of us even if we do not recognize it. ”
A work that manages a similar aesthetic, although more direct to the erotic, is “The whores circus”creation of Solomon Ortizwhere the provocation dances to the compass of music to shape a narrative about nine prostitutes who choose to be. Its director summarizes the idea: “We talk about female masturbation, orgies, sadomasochism and bisexuality, but we do it comfortably, with humor and without vulgarity. We play in the mud but we do not get stained.” The show, which turns four years in the poster, points to over 25 years and converts the “Behind Bar” room of Palermo into a space of confidences where even spectators share their intimate experiences live.
Narrative. In all the works where the half -naked skin exercises as a map where the viewer begins its theatrical journey, sex does not appear as an end, but as an aesthetic and thematic resource. The limit is not modesty but good taste, while the engine, in all cases, are curiosity and the desire to take the limits of sexuality to the end of the game and enjoy.
Mauro García, producer and directorhe found in “Erotika” Your sexual performer experimentation space. The show, based on fantasies collected among friends and their own incursions into the swinger environment, proposes an intense sensory experience. “Everything is very close and it is quite strong but without falling into the trash. It is not for anyone. The artist is next to and there is a lot of approach. Everything except explicit sex is allowed,” he describes. With humor as a condiment and a climate of complicity, his work became a kind of “informal club” of spectators who repeat the experience and ensure that they revive the passion with their partner every time they go.
Provocation also dresses in cabaret in “Che Madame”a show that combines live music, humor and strip with winks to the classic burlesque and Buenos Aires mischief. In this format, seduction goes more through the suggestion than due to direct exposure, and the game with the public is between glasses, songs and subtleties that invite the spectator the most suggestive variants of their sexuality.
A little darker, and flirting with fetishes, the work emerges “Perversion (Freak Show asylum)”which leads adrenaline to another level, with performances of horror, eroticism, disciplines, faququires and circus. Denise Mellebovsky Chaiaone of the hosts and that more interacts with the public, acknowledges: “I put the body a lot, I live from the truth, without pretending. Sometimes people ask me to whip her or feed her by my hand. The spectators can participate or not, it is the choice of them and nobody forces them. But on stage there is discomfort, eroticism and that mobilizes the public that always goes very much in their mood.” Inspired by the most dressed taboos, the work mixed metal, extreme makeup and scenes that alternate the grotesque and the sensual, always looking for a visceral response.
A common point is the public’s profile, which is repeated as a pattern in all these types of shows. Couples in search of new emotions, groups of friends, bachelor parties and curious of all ages, although the strong strip goes from 25 to 50, which finds in these functions a place to explore fantasies, share looks and challenge prejudices.
