FIFA 22 | FIFA is in talks with EA competitors over a new game

The cooperation between EA and FIFA should soon be history. According to the world association, negotiations are taking place with other developers regarding a successor to FIFA 22.

The football simulation FIFA has been inevitably associated with the name EA since the 1990s. However, this could soon be a thing of the past.

Because the US game developer should be releasing a title with a new name next year at the latest. In addition, FIFA is apparently focusing on releasing a football simulation as well.

The license expires at the end of the year

The license agreement between EA and FIFA will only last until the end of this year. Due to a multi-million dollar demand from the world governing body, the likelihood that EA will market the successor to FIFA 22 under a new name is increasing.

FIFA also seems to be looking for new prospects. It is possible that a separate football simulation will appear soon.

“It is clear to us that not just one party should control the rights,” FIFA said in a statement. This should refer to the previous top dog EA.

Negotiations are apparently already taking place

“Technology and mobile companies are actively competing to be associated with FIFA, its platforms and global tournaments,” the official FIFA letter said.

The world association emphasizes that negotiations are being conducted with a wide variety of developers and investors in order to be able to build a long-term strategy in the eSports and interactive entertainment sectors.

Detailed information on a possible new football simulation is still pending. However, FIFA has announced that the upcoming World Cup in Qatar will be used as a platform to promote new games and eSports offerings.
