The man was sought by the AIVD because, according to them, he was willing to commit violence and, moreover, was in possession of firearms. They were not found in Badhoevedorp, but at a house in ERP in Brabant, where the suspect is registered. Ammunition was also found there.
Due to the current investigation, the Public Prosecution Service cannot yet say who the possible target of the man was. It also remains unclear why he was staying in Badhoevedorp.
Member of the extreme right -wing group
The suspect himself claims to be a member of the Geuzenbond, an extreme right -wing group that trains white Dutch to make them ‘resilient’, it explains. On social media, the group is committed to the mass portation of refugees and other non-European migrants.
The Geuzenbond is also on the radar of the National Coordinator of Terrorism and Security. The arrested suspect will remain stuck in any case for the next two weeks.
