Flemish family sees forest fires up to 2 kilometers from holiday home approaching in Zakynthos: “We’re done with our suitcases to evacuate”

A family from Ostend that arrived yesterday afternoon on the Greek island of Zakynthos for a satisfying holiday has already packed her bags again today. The island is plagued by heavy forest fires and they are approached two kilometers from their holiday home. “We have entrenched ourselves in and are ready with our suitcases to evacuate,” Fran Volckaerts tells HLN.
