A dispute between the player and the club had broken out around the medical report on the violation of Marc-André Ter Stegen. Now there is an important decision.
The Spanish league recognizes the violation of Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen as a long-term injury. The club announced this on Wednesday. Accordingly, the league decided that the violation of the German national goalkeeper fulfills the criteria for a long -term injury.
The verdict is important for Barcelona because the financially difficult association has not yet been able to register new signing Joan García at the league. However, because Ter Stegen now officially counts as long -term injuries, the club is allowed to use 80 percent of its salary for registering new players. Therefore, the club immediately announced on Wednesday that they wanted to initiate the registration of García on Thursday. The Catalans had signed García in summer as the new number one of Espanyol Barcelona for around 25 million euros.
Ter Stegen had had to undergo back surgery. On social media, he himself spoke of a downtime of three months. A period of time that would probably not have been enough to declare it as long -term injuries.
Because the ex-Gladbacher apparently refused his club afterwards the approval of forwarding his injury report to the medical commission of the league, the great zoff occurred. Barcelona initiated a disciplinary procedure against Ter Stegen and withdrawn the captain’s armband. The goalkeeper finally steered and allowed the medical report to be forwarded. Then Barcelona hired the procedure and gave him back the captain’s office. He should now be rid of his regular place.
