The attacker is still under contract with Manchester United. But the conditions there no longer fit Rashford at all. Now he cleared his displeasure.

After moving to Spanish champion FC Barcelona, Marcus Rashford found clear words about his regular association Manchester United. In the Podcast “The Rest is Football”, the 27-year-old spoke of lack of continuity and a lack of strategic planning. “We are far below what we think of United’s level,” said Rashford.

The offensive player who played 426 competitive games for the “Red Devils”, most recently loaned Aston Villa and now plays on a loan base in Barcelona, criticized the development since Sir Alex Ferguson was saying in 2013. “We had so many different coaches, various ideas and various strategies to win in the end in the end of the no man’s land,” he explained.

The former club culture is no longer recognizable. Under Ferguson there were clear principles for the entire academy. “But if you constantly change the direction, you can’t expect to become a master,” emphasized Rashford, who is still under contract with the “Red Devils” by 2028.
