The American stock exchanges have finished considerably in the plus. Both the S&P (plus 1.1 percent) and the Nasdaq (plus 1.4 percent) reached new record positions. The Dow Jones got 1.1 percent. Investors are relieved that prices in the US have risen less rapidly than expected. They think that nothing can stop an interest rate reduction in September.
