Chinese man risks five years in prison for smuggling 850 protected turtles to Hong Kong

A Chinese man, Wei Qiang Lin, is on trial in the United States for smuggling 850 protected turtles. The animals were packed in socks and labeled as toys before they were sent to Hong Kong. Lin known guilt and now risks a prison sentence of a maximum of five years. According to US authorities, illegal trade has an estimated value of around 1.3 million euros.
