Rimowa’s new flagship store in the Madison Avenue marks another milestone in the expansion strategy of the brand belonging to the LVMH group.
The architecture concept comes from Porto Architects, the winner: inside of the design competition, which Rimowa had organized in 2023 and 2024.
According to the company, the biggest challenge was to anchor the brand identity in a building that is described as “characterless modernist, in the heart of one of the most revitalized shopping streets in the city”.
The facade is characterized by a black cladding made of porcelain tiles with grooves inspired by the iconic design of the Rimowa cases.

In the middle of the business, the “Range Wall” presents the entire suitcase collection. The seating was designed in Germany, an allusion to the German legacy of the brand.
To celebrate this opening, Rimowa launches a limited edition: the original Cabin Monogram New York-City Exclusive. It is a revised version of the original Cabin model, which contains an oversized monogram in bright yellow. This is a reference to the famous taxis and the nightlife of the city.

The suitcase was made with a technique that combines anodizing and pigmentation, and also has an inner label with the inscription “New York City Exclusive” and the address of the business in the Madison Avenue. The model was made in the German Cologne made of high -quality anodized aluminum.
