Shortly before the start of the World Cup qualification, Luxembourg needs a new trainer. The previous coach is facing a commitment in Germany.

Change of coach at the national team of Luxembourg: As the association announced, Luc Holtz asked to dissolve his contract with immediate effect. The 56-year-old stood on the sidelines since 2010 and led his home country to 33 victories in 144 games.

The association’s statement said that Holtz had the opportunity to switch to a club abroad. According to several media, he should be faced with a commitment to the third division team Waldhof Mannheim. The Kurpfälzer had only released head coach Dominik Glawogger after only two match days on Monday evening.

Holtz led Luxembourg to the play-off semi-final in the 2024 European Championship qualification, but failed because of Georgia. In the World Cup qualification, the selection will hit the German national team on October 10 in Sinsheim. The second leg is scheduled for November 14th in Luxembourg. Luxembourg also meets in the DFB group on Northern Ireland and Slovakia.
