Lic. Glanz, How were the beginnings in your profession?
From a very young age I understood that food is much more than nutrients. In my family, around the table we shared stories, emotions and important moments. I also witnessed how a messy or poor diet could affect health, energy and mood. Today I have a human, scientific and transformative look on how to feed can also be a way of healing.
Over time, I started being interested in the real impact of food: how they can prevent diseases, improve the quality of life and even be a tool for inclusion, respect and connection. That is why I decided to study nutrition: to be a bridge between the scientific and daily life of people.
What are the services you provide to your patients?
My mission is to help each person feel good with their body, their history and their habits, without faults or extreme restrictions. Being nutritionist, for me, is to accompany, educate and care. It is listening, containing and adapting my knowledge to the unique reality of each patient. And that motivates me every day: knowing that, from everyday life, I can generate a real change in someone’s life.
I also understood, over time, that for many people to diet is not enough. That it is not just about eating less or counting calories, but about traveling a deep, physical and emotional process. That is why I chose to specialize in the accompaniment of patients with bariatric surgery.
I accompany these processes from the beginning, without judgments. I want to help build a new relationship with food, with the body and personal history of each one. Surgery is not a magical solution: it is the beginning of a path. And as a nutritionist, I want to be there, walking next.
That path implies learning again, to take care of yourself, to trust. And to achieve this, more than technical knowledge is needed: empathy is needed. To be able to put in the place of the other, understand their fears, their achievements, their relapses … and also their desire.
Accompanying bariatric processes is, for me, a way to return dignity, listening and tools to people who have often been misunderstood. That is why I choose it every day, with commitment, with respect and with everything I know.
