Borussia Dortmund lost the last endurance test before the start of the season. When Mats Hummels said goodbye, BVB Juventus was lost.
BVB lost 1-2 (0: 1) to the Italian record champion on Sunday. In the last endurance test before the competitive game start, the 36 -year -old world champion from 2014 was once again in the starting eleven and led his former team on the field as captain.
BVB started the game with Hummels and initially had everything under control. But the guests from Italy took the lead with their first offensive action: after a flank from Pierre Kalulu, Andrea Cambiaso escaped the Dortmund defense and scored from a short distance to 1-0 (16th minute).

Just a minute later, Hummels was passed on the bench under Standing Ovations and by a trellis by all players. Even before the kick-off, the long-time defense chief was welcomed by the 81,365 fans in the sold-out Dortmund stadium with jubilant storms and Mats-Hummelsamschören.
For Hummels, Niklas Süle came into play, who apparently had to support the place with problems on the ankle shortly before the break. The next damper followed just a few minutes after the restart: After a dream combination of the guests, Cambiaso again converted a double pack (53.) from an acute angle.

After that, not really much went on the pitch. Many change was lost. Some BVB fans left the stadium minutes before the end of the game. In doing so, they missed the honor goal of substitute Maximilian Beier (89th).
Borussia Dortmund on August 18 (8:45 p.m.) meets the third division team Rot-Weiss Essen in the first round in the DFB Cup. Almost a week later (August 23, 6.30 p.m.), the Niko Kovac team near St. Pauli follows the start of the new season football–Bundesliga.
