VfL Bochum has followed the hoped -for home win after the opening bankruptcy in Darmstadt. In 85 minutes overnight against the decimated SV Elversberg it was 2-0 (0-0) but extremely tedious. Ibrahima Sissoko scored the goals for the Bochumer in the 65th minute and substitute Gerrit Holtmann (90.+2). Elversberg’s Jan Gyamerah had already seen the yellow-red card in the 6th minute.
After the bad opening clap in Darmstadt (1: 4), they were of course on one of VfL Bochum: reparation. Against the strong SV Elversberg, who only scored a very thin over the Bundesliga promotion in the last season, but was caution. The Saarlanders also started this season with a sense of achievement against 1. FC Nürnberg (1-0) and came with a lot of self -confidence.
Elversberg – yellow -red after six minutes
In such a starting point, one would like to have an outnumbered in the field as a home team – referee Lukas Benen Tat the VfL. The referee sent Elversberg’s Jan Gyamerah from the field after less than six minutes with a yellow-red card. After a first foul, the defender had been shot the ball in midfield a little later.
The second yellow card was extremely hard – probably even covered. Anyway – the second fastest yellow -red in the history of the 2nd league was pronounced.
The Hecking team was overnight overnight over 85 minutes. Better said: should have been happy about this situation. But it somehow looked different: the VfL seemed inhibited. Didn’t get a line in the game, a certain uncertainty was felt up to the ranks.
Bochum in half one: unimaginative
It looked like this in facts: Bochum had a fit in the first half of over 90 percent, but did not play a single real chance. The balls were pushed from one to the other, passes into the dangerous zone did not even come. The 0-0 for the break was acknowledged by the fans with jelly whistles.

Of course, VfL coach Dieter Hecking could not agree with the shown. He changed twice after the break: Gerrit Holtmann and Koji Miyoshi came two more creative offensive people.
Sissoko breaks the spell
The coaching measure had an effect: the VfL came out of the cabin with more momentum. And would have had to take the lead in the 48th minute when Miyoshi dropped past the goal at the goal at the gate at the gate. Three minutes later, SVE goalkeeper Nicolas Kristof saved a deficit when he defused a bullet from Moritz Broschinski from a very short distance with a great reflex.
One ball after the other now flew towards Elversberger Tor, it burned in the penalty area of the Saarlanders. And after 65 minutes it happened: Ibrahima Sissoko somehow poked the ball to 1-0 over the line after a corner kick. The first second division of the Malian national players redeemed the Bochum.
However, the amazingly good atmosphere on Castroper Straße was put to the test, because even after the “breast removal” goal there was not too much together at VfL. It remained Mau, until Holtmann increased to 2-0 in added time (90.+2). In the end, only victory counted for VfL. And that was 2-0 in the box.
