Harry Walker from the United States traveled to Mikkeli to the world’s strongest soldier competition.
When Harry Walker;
– I’m happy with my performance. I sacrificed a little speed to make the performance as controlled as possible. In retrospect, I could have probably progressed a little faster, but I wanted to shoot closely and do things in my own style, he says.
Mikkeli was crowned the world’s strongest soldier over the weekend. In addition to the United States, soldiers from Britain, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Latvia and Finland included soldiers. Many serve or have served in special forces.
The story goes on after the picture.

Walker is a superintendent of a military value. He serves in the National Guard and is a former Marine soldier. The American cannot tell very accurately where he has served or what he has done, but he has seen much more than a barracks monk cafe.
– I travel abroad and teach military tactics to the infantry. When I was in the Marines, I was invested in Asian, for example, but I can’t tell more about it.
Like the shooting and evacuation, he also assured his performance on the opening day of the competition on the Military Sour.
Walker, who is in excellent physical condition, also serves as a personal trainer. In addition, he works part of the year as a firefighter and extinguishes forest fires, for example.
– The work of a firefighter is physically the hardest I’ve done. Many Army veterans work in that profession in the United States.
Three jobs guarantee that there are hardly any boring moments.
“I have to schedule all months in advance so that things are successful,” says Walker.

Walker and his betrothed Alex are for the first time in Finland.
The social and cheerful US soldier from the state is just good to say.
– People are really friendly. All competitors are also really nice. Finland really reminds me of my home region. We also have forests and a lot of nature.
He has not yet tasted Finnish traditional dishes. However, there is still time, as the couple’s journey from Mikkeli continues to Helsinki for a day.
Walker praises Finns as a really good host.
One thing amazes.
– It feels like everyone here is speaking 3-4 languages. Everyone’s English is also perfect. People are also smart. You see a lot of effort to help as long as the other party is friendly and we ask beautifully, he praises.
– Public transport also works really well in Finland.
In addition to the amazement of language skills, there have been no other great surprises.
“I’ve been to many countries, so it’s hard to be surprised,” says Walker.
– I have to say that your country is really beautiful. It’s the opposite of many other countries. I’ve been to pretty bad places around the world.
