A car flew out of the bend on the Rijksweg in Geffen on Saturday afternoon, bumped into a lamppost and ended up in the ditch. The driver was arrested by the police because he was probably under the influence.

The accident happened a little before four o’clock. The driver drove from Nuland to Geffen when he flew out of the bend just before a roundabout and bumped into a lamppost. Due to the blow, the lamppost is pulled out of the ground.

The driver was checked in the ambulance, but remained unharmed. He was taken to the police station. According to the police present, he was probably under the influence. The man himself would also have admitted that he was driving faster than was allowed on that road.

The car is taken out of the ditch and taken by a recovery company.
