Prussia Münster and SC Paderborn separated 1-1 (0: 1) on Friday evening in the 2nd Bundesliga. Luis Engeln (23rd minute) took the lead, and Jano Ter Horst (61.) scored. Münster prevented a complete false start, but continues to wait for the first win in the new season. The SCP missed the dream start of two wins from two games.
Two of the clubs’s own plants ensured the highlights of the fighting game. The 18-year-old angel, who has been in Paderborn since the age of nine, made the lead in his 14th second division game. The equalization also achieved one who comes from his own offspring: Jano Ter Horst. So far, the 23-year-old has only played for Münster and now comes to 29 games of the 2nd Bundesliga for at least two own goals.
“It’s a shame“, said Paderborn’s coach Ralf Kattemann, who was about to let his emotions run wild and in the end it was different. “The end result hurts a bit. It felt more like a win for us. But that’s part of the game”
“We have made a system change that did not fertilize as we imagined it“, Münster’s new coach Alexander End revealed in the Sportschau interview. “After that, however, we fought ourselves in, equalized again and luckily this time took the point home.”

Paderborn dominates the first half
Just in time for the NRW duel, the Prussians were allowed to play on the newly built and now released west stands behind the Paderborner Tor. In the ranks, the audience first saw researching guests, some of whom put the Münster defense under pressure with five men. Nevertheless, the hosts made the first conclusion by midfielder Marco Mayerhöfer (7th). Then the game flattened – both teams acted too faulty in the last third.

The first gap found the continued SCP: Laurin Curda used a malfunction at his own penalty area to the measure -precise flank on the head of Engeln, which netted unsustainable for goalkeeper Johannes Schenk (23rd). Paderborn was unlucky when the crossbar and the heavily parrying Johannes Schenk prevented the second goal (28th). Little came from Münster, the guests made the rooms very defensively. One last chance in the first round was for Engelns, which this time headed too unplaced.
Münster fights back
After the change of sides, Paderborn initially had the chance to 2-0 when Nick Bätzner grimaced slightly (47th). Two minutes were played in halftime when the hosts finally seemed to get up. First Etienne Amenyido tried it, then Jerrit Hendrix – but only the third chance was sitting: Ter Horst moved into the penalty area after a fine pass and netted to compensate.
The equalization mainly caused the intensive duels. Münster now made up for the playful deficiency through a lot of commitment and willingness to run. The SCP stayed on the ball more often and pushed a little more for victory overall, but could not take a big chance. With Steffen Tigges, coach Ralf Kettemann changed an attacker who was just only from 1. FC Köln. However, his storm colleagues Filip Bilbija (86th) and Adriano Grimaldi (90th), who demanded everything again shortly before the end.
