Last: AZ – FC Vaduz 3-0
Thank you for following. This weekend we are there again with a live blog around the start of the new Eredivisie season.
What a world goal from Mexx Meerdink! The striker plucks the ball beautifully out of the sky and shoots the ball in a pirouette over the goalkeeper.
There Mexx Meerdink is almost with the third for AZ. The substitute tries very well on a low cross, but the ball goes just wide.
Trainer Maarten Martens sends three fresh forces into the field. Troy Parrott, Ernest Poku and Kees Smit leave the field. Mexx Meerdink, Ibrahim Sadiq and Zico Buurmeester are their substitutes.
The second of AZ and the second of Troy Parrott. The striker is perfectly put away by Sven Mijnans and shoots the ball against the ropes from a difficult angle.
Quite a chance for FC Vaduz. Angelo Campos receives the ball in the penalty area and shoots over the goal of AZ. The Alkmaarders let it happen a little too easily in this phase.
Isak Jensen comes within the lines for Ro-Zangelo Daal.
What a hard tackle from Mees de Wit. The left back is much too late and kicks his opponent at full speed. He is absolutely not allowed to complain with a yellow card.
AZ seems to be taking a 2-0 lead through Denso Kasius. However, the arbitration rejects the goal because of offside and therefore it stays with 1-0.
AZ attacks considerably in the beginning of the second half. With fast combinations, the Alkmaarders have been in a dangerous position a number of times. A shot from Ro-Zangelo Daal must be bought away by goalkeeper Leon Schaffran.
AZ started the second half unchanged.
AZ setup:Sweet; Kasius, Goes, Penetra, De Wit; Koopmeers, Smit, Mijnans; Poku, Parrott, Daal
AZ is urging the break and is looking for a second goal. Ro-Zangelo Daal tries from outside the sixteen, but his shot is over the goal.
Denso Kasius has room to shoot and does that too. Goalkeeper Leon Schaffran saves with the fists on the Poeier from a distance.
Oops, there was almost the second of AZ. Troy Parrott marks the ball over the goalkeeper, but captain Nicolas Hasler removes the ball just before the line with an excellent sliding.
And after playing for half an hour, AZ takes the lead. Troy Parrott lurks for the goal and taps a low cross.
Just a somewhat lesser phase in the competition. FC Vaduz still gets a chance via Mischa Eberhard, but his attempt next to more than a meter next to the goal of AZ. The Alkmaarders are just as difficult for opportunities.
Dominik Schwizer shows that he has a good free kick. From about 25 meters he just shoots next to Jeroen Zoet’s goal.
Again a good attack from AZ. Kees Smit puts wide on Peer Koopmeiners, who just persuades the tractor. His efforts sail along the goal of FC Vaduz.
There is the first chance for AZ. After long -term possession and an attack on many discs, Troy Parrott makes on Sven Mijnans. The captain’s shot is blocked by a defender. The subsequent corner kick yields little.
The ball rolls in Alkmaar at AZ – FC Vaduz.
Mees de Wit is the only player of AZ who was also in the base the previous meeting with FC Vaduz (2022/23). Jordy Clasie and Hobie Verhulst were also in the base, but have to watch today from the stands and the bank.
FC Vaduz has already completed two games on the second level in Switzerland. In it, the team of coach Marc Schneider took four points. AZ will start the competition against FC Groningen on Sunday.
AZ lacks a number of players against FC Vaduz. Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro is not yet match fit and therefore Jeroen Zoet will be under the bar again. Seiya Maikuma, Lequincio Zeefuik and Billy van Duijl are also injured. Kristijan Belic and Mayckel Lahdo get the opportunity to complete their transfers and are also not in the selection of competition.
In the 2022/23 season, AZ also had to deal with FC Vaduz. The club from Liechtenstein then made the group stage of the Conference League. AZ won 4-1 in Alkmaar. Yusuf Barasi, Sam Beukema, Yukinari Sugawara and Dani de Wit then took care of the goals. In the dwarf state it won 1-2. Milos Kerkez and Myron van Brederode scored in that match.
The AZ – FC Vaduz match starts at 8 p.m. NH Sport is present and will keep you informed of all developments before, during and after the competition.
