Is it finally flying well, which takes a long time?

Terminal 2 at BER Airport was completed on September 25, 2020. It goes into operation on Thursday – 545 days later. What takes a long time finally flies well!

Flight FR 177 of the low-cost airline Ryanair is scheduled to take off for London Stansted at 2 p.m. Passengers will be processed in T2 for the first time. The 200 million euro project was the flagship building of the airport makers.

Although the costs had doubled, the schedule of two years was adhered to. The reason for the late start-up is the low number of passengers during the corona pandemic. So far, the operation has not paid off.

“The T2 is part of our preparation for the normalization of air traffic,” she said. “We expect 17 million passengers for 2022.” The airport company is not targeting the pre-crisis level of 36 million passengers until 2025.
