He told about it on his Instagram account on Thursday.
– I’ve cried, fought, suspected, fallen – and risen up every time. Thanks to everyone who has been on my way with me. I leave healthy, satisfied and happy. Snow remains, but my number is written, he wrote in his publication.
Venier ended his career at the top. Last winter, he won the Super Slalom World Championship in Saalbach.
The news was quite a surprise, as the Milan-Cortina Olympics are just about half a year away.
Venier has also won the World Championship silver in his career (2017) and team alpine-combined World Championship bronze (2025).
In his career, Venier won three World Cup competitions: two in a downhill and one in a supernatural slalom.
