The 16-year-old and 23-year-old suspects of the fatal shooting in Coevorden are suspected of murder. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) announced this. During the shooting last month, a 21-year-old man from Emmen died.
The two men from the municipality of Emmen are also suspected of possession of weapons and an attempted murder of three other men. The OM thinks they have shot several times on an 18-year-old man from the municipality of Emmen, a 31-year-old man from Emmen and a 33-year-old man from Coevorden.
Just before or during the fatal shooting at the Kromme Elleboog in Coevorden, there may also have been an attempted kidnapping of the aforementioned 18-year-old. The two people in their thirties are suspected of this. Both were arrested by the police.
The 31-year-old has since been released but remains the suspect. The 33-year-old man is still stuck. The 18-year-old was also arrested shortly after the shooting. He has now also been released, but also remains a suspect.
The court today stipulated that the 16-year-old and 23-year-old murder suspects stay stuck for three months longer. The investigation is still ongoing. The OM also looks at the circumstances and the role of the victim.
