The German volleyball players solved the ticket for the European Championship next year.
In the last game of the qualification, the team of national coach Giulio Bregoli won 3: 0 (25:10, 25:17, 25:17) against Switzerland on Wednesday in Wiesbaden and is therefore no longer to be displaced from group A.
With the Swiss women, the selection of the German Volleyball Association had little problems. The Bregoli team secured the first sentence in a quick pass, even afterwards the German short processes with the Swiss Federals, who had already defeated them 3-0 in the first leg.
The qualification for the tournament in Azerbaijan, Sweden, the Czech Republic and Turkey (August 21 to September 6, 2026) closes Germany with nine points.
Switzerland (2) still meets Finland (4) in the final group game, but the DVV selection cannot overtake any of the two teams.
Germany has always participated in the European Championship since 1958. So far, however, neither a German women nor a men’s selection has been won.
The highlight of the year is already coming up in around two weeks: the World Cup (August 22nd to September 7th) will increase in Thailand.
