Carlo Boszhard, at the time he played in the musical Saturday Night Fever, did something very common. He let a musical bobo fly back fifteen hours. “She was tired and heavily irritated.”
At the moment, Carlo Boszhard can be seen in the musical Moulin Rouge, but there was also a time when he played in Saturday Night Fever. Together with Chantal Janzen. “We took eight shows a week, people fell by bushes: injuries, fatigue, understudies of Understudies were on stage without rehearsals,” she writes in the magazine & C.
Carlo Woest
According to Chantal, it was a drama. “Carlo and I had the idea that the entire show was going to the Galleemiezen. In retrospect, we are very exaggerated, but we Benne artists. So we – young and impatient and heavily dramatic – went to complain well in the office.”
The two Dutch celebrities stormed angry at the musical office. “Only: the one who went over it was on a family visit on the other side of the world.”
Tired
Carlo and Chantal let the conscious manager fly over half the world. “Joop van den Ende heard about it and always attracts the atmosphere in a cast very much, so he immediately let that poor woman come back.”
She continues: “She should have flyed fifteen hours, she was only there for three days … Tired and heavily irritated, she was in her office.”
Terrified
What was it like again with this musical bobo? “We in turn were terrified of her again, she was a spicy and explosive aunt,” says Chantal. “She told what she had heard of Joop, and I heard myself say,” No dude, did I say that? ” And Carlo: “I think we really didn’t say that!”
“We felt very bad when we heard from her that she had flown for fifteen hours and could only have enjoyed her family for a few days, and therefore did not dare to be a debt. We regularly took a flower or chocolate for her the following weeks.”
Guilt
That was “pure out of guilt,” said Chantal. “In the end, after a long time I only explained to her how it had gone, why she had to come back in a hurry.”
She concludes: “Carlo and I offered to buy a new ticket so that she could go to her family again. But Joop had already taken care of that.”
